So it turns out that our very own Hubble Space Telescope discovered carbon dioxide on a planet that is not Earth.
Yes, that's right. The planet HD189733b is located 65 light-years from Earth and, unfortunately, is too hot to sustain any known life because of its distance to its star, but this method of discovering plants opens doors to the future discovery of life in distant solar systems.
HD189733b... I love the name...
